Tarragona's investigating court number 6 has summoned the creators of the documentary Insostenible, rere la brossa for questioning as investigated parties, after Griñó Ecològic filed a lawsuit accusing them of a "coordinated strategy of discredit" against the company.

The lawsuit by Griñó Ecològic, which has been admitted for processing, targets the documentary's director, Christophe Sion; the screenwriter and founder of Porta Enrere, Rafa Marrasé; and the heads of the Jara Barceló Foundation, Gerard Jara and Magdalena Barceló, who partially funded the project. It also extends to several legal entities, including the foundation, two companies linked to its leaders, and the environmental organization Gepec.
The waste management company accuses the investigated parties of crimes such as "procedural fraud," "market price manipulation," "market abuse" with the aim of altering stock market prices, and belonging to a "criminal group." According to Griñó, the defendants orchestrated a plan to discredit the company and mislead authorities, causing reputational damage, a 27.87% drop in its share value, and loss of contracts between January 14 and April 30 of last year.

The company accuses the investigated parties of several crimes, including procedural fraud and market price manipulation, with the aim of altering stock market prices and belonging to a criminal group.

The documentary Insostenible, rere la brossa, broadcast by TV3 on June 20, 2023, investigated Griñó Ecològic's possible involvement in an illegal waste trafficking scheme. A year and a half after its broadcast, in January 2025, the Guardia Civil conducted an operation that led to the arrest of the company's leadership, although they were released hours later. The case remains open in court.
To substantiate its lawsuit, Griñó hired the detective agency Método 3, which produced reports on the economic relationships between companies linked to the promoters of the Jara Barceló Foundation, the foundation itself, the media outlet Porta Enrere, and Gepec. The lawsuit suggests that Jara's interest in funding the campaign might be to clean up the image of his own companies, which had been affected by environmental problems in Tarragona. The documentary was removed from the 3cat platform a few months ago without prior notice to its creators.
