The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a man on December 29 in connection with the accidental death of another individual in Tarragona, which took place near the Nou Estadi stadium.

The event occurred on December 21, 2025, in a wooded hunting zone. The victim died from a gunshot wound to the head. According to the Guardia Civil, the deceased was allegedly linked to a criminal network smuggling mastic shrubs to the Netherlands.
The suspect appeared before the Tarragona Court of Instruction, where the judge granted provisional release. However, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia confirmed that his hunting and weapons licenses have been revoked as a precautionary measure.
The case remains open as an investigation into negligent homicide. The defendant is required to report to the court on a monthly basis while the legal proceedings continue.
