The Tarragona City Council has awarded the environmental restoration works for the GR92 coastal path, a project that will improve the section between Fortí de la Reina and Cossis Park, with an investment of 209,728.08 euros.

The company Ambientalia World SL will be responsible for executing these works, which have an estimated duration of four months. This award comes after the initial tender, launched last September, received no bids.
The project includes several key actions for the recovery of the natural value and accessibility of the path. Among them, the removal of accumulated debris and waste stands out, along with the elimination of invasive plant species that affect the local ecosystem, and the restoration of the path's layout to ensure user safety.
Additionally, support elements such as stairs and handrails will be installed to facilitate passage in more complex sections, and native vegetation species will be planted, contributing to the area's biodiversity. This initiative is part of the Green and Sustainable Transition efforts, adapting to climate change within the Tarragona City Council's Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan, and is funded by Next Generation Funds.
