This municipal initiative, aiming to modernize and dignify urban spaces, includes interventions in strategic areas such as the surroundings of the residence, Escola Salou, and Escola Vora Mar. Works will also be carried out on central streets like Pau Casals Avenue, Montsant, Jaume Vicens Vives, Rosa Sensat, Pierre Vilar, Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, Ferran Soldevila, Major, Navarra, Saragossa, Priorat, Osca, and Valls, in addition to Plaça de la Sardana, Passatge de les Antines, and Via Aurèlia.
The works involve renovating cobblestone pavement, repairing curbs and channels, replacing urban furniture, and modernizing vertical signage. Furthermore, service frames and covers will be replaced, superficial roots will be trimmed, and tree pits will be created for urban trees, contributing to a more organized and accessible environment.
The project also plans for the expansion of three key sidewalks: on Murillo Street (between Carles Buïgas and Barbastre), on Berenguer de Palou Street, and the western sidewalk of Fra Juníper Serra Street. For Berenguer de Palou Street, the intervention will also include renewing the tree population with native species, creating new landscaped areas, and installing low-consumption LED lighting to improve energy efficiency.
One of the most notable additions is the construction of a new sidewalk on Carrer dels Caçadors, in Cap Salou, to enhance the safety and mobility of residents. This intervention will feature concrete pavement, new parking areas, vehicle ramps, and new public lighting, creating a more pleasant and functional urban space.
Following initial approval, the project will undergo public exhibition, and once final approval is obtained, it will be put out to tender. The estimated execution period is approximately ten months, with works carried out in phases to minimize disruption to residents and traffic.
