The Salou Municipal Swimming Pool has inaugurated Catalonia's first smart facility, using the nagi system to enhance safety, optimize resources, and improve the sporting experience for users.

The Salou Municipal Swimming Pool has become the first facility in Catalonia to be integrated into the Spanish Network of Connected Smart Pools (EPIC). This project promotes technological innovation applied to safety, efficient resource management, and improving the user experience.

"This initiative represents a step forward in consolidating an innovative municipality in the fields of sport, health, and public management."

Pere Granados · Mayor of Salou
The facility incorporates the nagi system, a technology based on smart sensors and real-time monitoring tools. This innovation allows swimmers to receive data on their activity, such as the number of lengths or distance swum, and maintains a direct connection with lifeguards to improve incident prevention.

"The objective of the project is not only performance, but also to make pools healthy and safe."

Aitor Canibe · Deputy Director of the High Council for Sports
In addition to safety, the technology guarantees optimal water quality and more efficient resource management, resulting in lower water and energy consumption. The president of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation, Fernando Carpena, thanked the collaboration with local clubs, stating that “this step places Salou on another level”.
