Salou is participating in ARATUR 2026 in Zaragoza to strengthen its tourism promotion in a key market, presenting a diversified offer including Festa al Cel, historical heritage, and gastronomy.

The municipality of Salou has established its presence at ARATUR 2026, the most significant tourism fair in Aragon, held at the Congress Palace of Zaragoza until Sunday. The primary objective is to consolidate promotion in one of the markets considered most loyal and strategic for the destination.
The fair, which began on Friday, has established itself as an important tourism showcase for the northeastern peninsula. Salou is using this platform to present a renewed offer, emphasizing the diversification of its tourism model, cultural promotion, and the desestacionalization of activities.
Among the most notable proposals is the Festa al Cel (Festival in the Sky), recognized as the largest air festival in the State, which will be held again in Salou from September 18th to 20th. This event will combine aerial displays by military and civilian aircraft, acrobatics, and flight demonstrations, as well as a night show with drones, lasers, and fireworks over the sea.
In parallel, Salou is also working on enhancing its historical and architectural heritage. Visitors to the stand can discover modernist and Novecentist routes, as well as itineraries related to historical memory, such as the route through the defense spaces of the Civil War. In this regard, the Machine Gun Nests at Punta del Porroig have been recovered and opened to the public.
Gastronomy also plays a fundamental role in the promotion, championing Mediterranean cuisine and local products as identifying elements of the municipality.
According to the council, the goal is to position Salou as an active tourist destination throughout the year, using major events, culture, and heritage as new drivers of attraction.
The mayor of Salou and president of the Municipal Tourism Board, Pere Granados, has traveled to Zaragoza to participate in promotional actions. During his visit to the stand, he spoke with the Minister of Tourism of the Government of Aragon, Luis Francisco Biendicho, about the municipality's transformation in sustainability, heritage recovery, and desestacionalization.
Granados highlighted the historical relationship between Salou and Aragon, stating that "coming to Aragon is like being at home," and emphasized that "Salou is Aragon's gateway to the Mediterranean." He also expressed his enthusiasm for presenting a route that reveals "an unknown Salou steeped in history."
In parallel to the fair, Salou has launched a promotional campaign in Zaragoza with a vinyl-wrapped bus touring the city center, showcasing its beaches and the Festa al Cel. This initiative complements the institutional presentation held on Thursday at the INNSiDE by Meliá Zaragoza, where details of the air festival and the local heritage recovery project were presented.
ARATUR annually brings together dozens of exhibitors and destinations, consolidating itself as one of the most important tourism fairs in the northeastern peninsula, attracting thousands of visitors. In this context, Salou reaffirms its position as one of the favorite destinations for the Aragonese public.
