The capital of the Costa Daurada is preparing to host the second edition of the Festa al Cel, an event that will fill the coastline with flights and displays over three days. The organization expects to surpass the 350,000 attendees from the first edition, thanks to an expanded program and the presence of notable military and civil aviation aircraft.
The program will begin on Friday, September 18, from 11 AM to 3 PM, with training flights and technical checks. This day will allow observation of the preparations by acrobatic teams, historic aircraft, and helicopters.
On Saturday, September 19, from 6 PM to 9:25 PM, the PortAventura Sunset Airshow will take place, one of the most anticipated novelties. This show will combine aerial acrobatics with LED lights, smoke, lasers, and pyrotechnics, taking advantage of the sunset light.
The main air display will be held on Sunday, September 20, from 11 AM to 3 PM, featuring fighter jets, helicopters, historic and civilian aircraft, and emergency air assets.
Military participation will include the Spanish Air and Space Force with an Eurofighter Typhoon, an A400M, and a Canadair CL-415T, as well as the Parachute Acrobatic Team (PAPEA). The Spanish Army will provide Airbus Helicopters Tigre and Boeing Chinook helicopters, while the Guardia Civil will participate with a CASA-235 and a BO-105.
Internationally, the Baltic Bees Jet Team from Latvia will perform with their L-39 Albatros, Sweden's Scandinavian Airshows with acrobatic biplanes, the UK's Aerosparx with Grob 109B aircraft, and Poland's Flying Dragons Paramotor Team.
Commercial aviation will be represented by a Vueling Airbus A320. The Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Firefighters) will participate with an AT-802F Fire Boss. There will also be performances by the Yakstars, the Fundació Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya with historic aviation, and the Aeroclub Barcelona-Sabadell and Aeroclub Alt Camp.
On the ground, flight simulators from the Spanish Air Force (AVIOCAR and A400M) will be installed on Salou beach. The organization recommends using public transport and planning travel in advance due to the expected large turnout.
