Seventeen trucks fined for speeding on AP-7 highway during windstorm

The Mossos d'Esquadra police force fined 17 truck drivers for exceeding 80 km/h on the AP-7 highway near Tarragona on Wednesday, February 19, during a severe wind alert.

The operation took place at kilometer 246.5 heading towards València. Due to the Pedro storm, specific safety measures were in place, including a mandatory speed limit of 80 km/h for heavy goods vehicles and a total ban on overtaking to prevent wind-related accidents.
Out of 674 trucks monitored, 17 were officially reported for driving at speeds over 90 km/h, with the highest recorded speed reaching 97 km/h. Four of these drivers were also sanctioned for illegal overtaking maneuvers during the weather emergency.
