The Generalitat Firefighters have responded to 54 incidents this Thursday as extreme wind gusts exceeding 140 km/h battered the Tarragona region.

The highest wind speed was recorded in Riudoms at 141 km/h, while other areas like El Perelló saw gusts of 121 km/h. Emergency services received nearly 300 calls via the 112 hotline, mostly reporting fallen debris and structural hazards in urban areas.
In Tarragona city, emergency crews secured building facades in the Sant Pere i Sant Pau neighborhood and cleared fallen pine trees from public roads. Meanwhile, the Agents Rurals have placed 64 municipalities under a Level 2 Pla Alfa alert due to the significantly increased risk of wildfires caused by the dry, windy conditions.
