Storm in Tarragona: 192 calls to Firefighters and rainfall exceeding 200 mm

Torrential rains on Friday night and Saturday morning led to numerous calls for the Fire Department, particularly in Baix Penedès and Tarragonès.

Intense rains and storms that affected the province of Tarragona during Friday night and Saturday morning mobilized the Fire Department, which received 192 calls.

The majority of calls to the emergency services came from the regions of Baix Penedès and Tarragonès. In response, the operation was reinforced with additional crews and specialized units.
According to data from Meteocat, the downpours this morning primarily affected the northern coast of Tarragonès and the south of Baix Penedès. Between 10 PM on August 21st and 6 AM on August 22nd, approximately 140 mm of rain accumulated in El Vendrell and Torredembarra.
In some locations, rainfall may have exceeded 200 mm, according to meteorological service estimates.
