Storm Regina brings up to 275 liters of rain to southern Tarragona

Els Ports Natural Park records the highest rainfall in Catalonia during a period of persistent storms.

Storm Regina has left exceptional rainfall accumulations in the Tarragona region between Thursday and Sunday morning, reaching a peak of 275 liters per square meter in Baix Ebre.

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat), the heaviest rains were concentrated in the southern part of the province and mountainous areas. Els Ports Natural Park recorded the highest accumulation in the entire country during this event.
Significant rainfall was also noted in Tivissa (145.7 liters), Prades (133.1 liters), and Mas de Barberans (127.1 liters). In Ulldecona, specifically in the Els Valentins area, gauges reached 124.9 liters.
Following the passage of Storm Regina, weather forecasts now point towards a stabilization of conditions and several days of sunny weather across the region.
