Storm Regina causes landslides and fallen trees across Tarragona

Firefighters respond to dozens of emergency calls as heavy rain disrupts traffic in Batea, Querol, and Gandesa.

The Generalitat Firefighters have responded to 31 weather-related incidents in the province of Tarragona this Saturday, March 7, following the arrival of Storm Regina.

The storm has caused significant road blockages. In Batea, large rocks and trees fell onto the T-723 highway, obstructing traffic. Similar incidents were reported in Querol on the C-37 road and in Gandesa on the TV-7231, where landslides affected several lanes.
Since Thursday, emergency services have completed 382 operations throughout Catalonia. In the Tarragona region alone, 20 warnings were handled, while 11 additional calls were managed in the Terres de l'Ebre area due to the persistent rainfall.
