The project, awarded to Aplicaciones Eléctricas Ene for 126,423.6 euros, includes high-tech recording and video analytics. The cameras are being placed in key locations such as Plaça de la Font and Plaça del Rei, following a technical review to ensure the devices do not clash with the city's ancient architecture.
“"Once they are ready, they will serve us to take a very important step forward in reinforcing security and coexistence in these spots."
The installation was previously delayed by the Cultural Heritage Commission, which demanded more discreet camera models to protect the aesthetic value of the UNESCO World Heritage site. The new compact devices are now being mounted on historic facades, including the Antiga Audiència and Casa Canals.
