Tarragona Cruise Port has solidified its position as an emerging destination in the Western Mediterranean during its participation in Seatrade Cruise Med, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The trade fair highlighted the growing interest of shipping companies in the Costa Daurada, thanks to a differentiated offering that combines heritage, landscape, and gastronomy.

The event, which took place on September 16 and 17, served to reinforce Tarragona's commitment to extending cruise seasons and positioning itself as a boutique port for high-end vessels. The Tarragona Cruise Port delegation held meetings with shipping companies and tour operators to add new itineraries as a home port and attract companies from the premium and luxury segments.
This approach aims to foster sustainable and de-seasonalized tourism growth on the Costa Daurada, attracting visitors with higher purchasing power and encouraging destination discovery before or after embarking.
During the fair, the diverse experiences offered by the destination were showcased, including Roman Tarragona, Modernist Reus, the Cistercian Route, castles, enogastronomic proposals, and natural landscapes like the Ebro Delta, as well as family activities such as Port Aventura.
The port's operational advantages were also highlighted, featuring the Baleares Quay and an innovative, sustainable terminal that enhances the experience for transit passengers and those embarking or disembarking.
Seatrade Cruise Med arrives at the final stretch of a successful season for Tarragona, with projections of approximately eighty calls. Notably, Viking has chosen Tarragona as one of its Mediterranean home ports, with the debut of the Viking Yi Dun, aimed at the Chinese market. Other milestones include the call of the Legend of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) and the consolidation of MSC as a home port with the MSC Orchestra.
