The Association for the Promotion of the Tarragona Metropolitan Area has formally requested that Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona provides 24/7 thrombectomy services for stroke patients.

The organization emphasizes that time is a critical factor in stroke emergencies to reduce long-term disabilities. They are demanding a clear schedule and sufficient resources to ensure that residents in the Tarragona region have the same recovery opportunities as those in other parts of Catalonia.

"This is not a political demand, but a requirement for territorial justice and equity in access to public healthcare."

Roc Muñoz · President of the Association
The association will formally present its position to the Department of Health, offering to work together on a progressive rollout of the service. President Roc Muñoz stated that the region is simply asking for equal treatment in a matter where time literally means life.
