The incident began shortly after 10:15 AM when grey smoke was spotted rising from one of the rooms in the historic Laboral University building. Staff acted quickly to clear the premises before four fire crews arrived at the scene.

Firefighters identified the source of the fire within the refrigeration units. The situation was brought under control and the fire was officially declared extinguished by 10:56 AM, with no injuries reported during the operation.
