Companies in the Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre regions saw a 9.6% decrease in exports during January, reaching a total value of 850.5 million euros.

According to the Ministry of Economy, chemical products led the export charts despite a 13.8% drop. Capital goods also faced a significant downturn, falling by 17.5% compared to the same period last year.
Imports in the region also declined by 11.4%, totaling 1,321.7 million euros. This trend was mirrored across Catalonia, where overall exports fell by 6.7%, with Girona and Lleida recording the sharpest decreases in the country.
Despite the slow start to the year, Catalonia remains the leading exporting region in Spain, accounting for 25.6% of all international sales, driven primarily by the chemical and food sectors.
