The city of Tarragona is hosting a series of events this Saturday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Juan Gabriel Rodrigo Knafo in March 1976.

The main ceremony has been moved to the Teatre Tarragona lobby due to rain, followed by a floral offering at Unió Street. Knafo died at the age of 19 after falling from a rooftop while being pursued by police during a demonstration supporting the victims of the Vitoria Massacre.
His family has long disputed the official police version of an accidental fall. Political parties including Junts, ERC, Comuns, and CUP have recently supported a resolution to reopen the investigation and restore his honor through the Democratic Memory Program.
Commemorative activities include screenings of the film Inor Ez by Eloi Beato and lectures on historical repression by historian David Ballester Muñoz, highlighting the struggle for justice five decades later.
