Approximately 1,500 people took to the streets of Tarragona this Sunday for the March 8th unitary demonstration, highlighting the link between feminism and anti-racism.

Organized by the Plataforma Feminista del Camp de Tarragona, the protest moved from Plaça Imperial Tàrraco to Plaça de la Font. Participants voiced their opposition to the patriarchy and far-right ideologies, specifically calling for 'papers for everyone' in reference to immigration status.

"We see how achieved rights are under threat and, as we have done throughout history, feminists will continue to be on the streets."

The day also featured a cultural performance of the traditional satirical play Sogra i Nora. The play used humor to address contemporary issues such as the gender pay gap and the mental load of domestic life through a multi-generational lens.
