The incident occurred during a demonstration against the Vitoria Massacre. While the official version at the time claimed it was an accident, the family and several political parties, including ERC and Junts, are now pushing for a formal investigation to clear his name and determine the actual circumstances of the tragedy.

The anniversary program includes documentaries such as Inor Ez and lectures by historians like David Ballester Muñoz, focusing on police repression during Spain's transition to democracy.
