The city of Tarragona is hosting a series of events this Saturday, March 7th, to honor Juan Gabriel Rodrigo Knafo, who died fifty years ago during a pro-democracy protest.

The main ceremony has been moved to the Teatre Tarragona lobby due to expected rain. Following the institutional act, a traditional floral tribute will take place at Unió Street, where the 19-year-old fell to his death while being pursued by police officers in March 1976.
The incident occurred during a demonstration against the Vitoria Massacre. While the official version at the time claimed it was an accident, the family and several political parties, including ERC and Junts, are now pushing for a formal investigation to clear his name and determine the actual circumstances of the tragedy.
The anniversary program includes documentaries such as Inor Ez and lectures by historians like David Ballester Muñoz, focusing on police repression during Spain's transition to democracy.
