The award, presented by the specialized magazine Gigantes del Basket, recognizes Tarragona's dedication to sports development. The City Councilor for Sports, Mario Soler, accepted the trophy at the Endesa headquarters from Lucila Pascua, president of the Women's Basketball Players Association.

The city has recently hosted the ACB Catalan League and the Minicopa Endesa. Looking forward, Tarragona is set to host the Copa de la Reina, further establishing its role as a key hub for Spanish basketball in its 38th year of these prestigious awards.
