The Tarragona Port Authority is collaborating in the organization of a retrospective exhibition to commemorate the 35 years since the recovery of the Cucafera of Tarragona, a figure from the traditional festive procession.

The exhibition, which will celebrate three and a half decades since the recovery of this festive element, will soon be viewable at the Espai Mar and other cultural venues in the city. The collaboration is part of the Port Authority's relationship with social and cultural entities in the Barri del Port.
The Port Authority fosters neighborliness and cohesion with the city by supporting entities in the Serrallo and Barri del Port. Within this framework, it has joined forces with the Port Neighborhood Association and the Cucafera's carriers to organize this commemorative exhibition.
The Cucafera of Tarragona will kick off the celebration of its 35th anniversary this Saturday the 25th, with the traditional Despertada (Awakening), as part of the XXXV Festes del Barri del Port (Port Neighborhood Festivities). The anniversary also coincides with the 35th anniversary of the Port Neighborhood Association, which spearheaded the Cucafera's recovery and also organizes the festivities.
The retrospective exhibition is currently in the preparation phase and is expected to be accessible soon at the Espai Mar and other cultural spaces in Tarragona.
