The Federation of Road Transport of Tarragona (Feat) announced its decision not to participate in the protest organized by various rail user entities and platforms in Tarragona. In a statement, the road transport employers' association argued that the current mobility crisis responds to an “erroneous policy where the road is systematically despised.”
The need to commit to collective public transport must be done by focusing on the traveler and not, as until now, on the means by which they travel.
This stance is based on the belief that any commitment to public transport must prioritize the needs of the traveling citizen, regardless of whether they use the railway or the coach.
The Feat also used the statement to demand that administrations provide “the necessary resources to boost and maintain, not only the railway network, but also the road network.”
Finally, the employers' association emphasized their work to prevent “financial discrimination” against users who choose coaches instead of trains, regardless of the reason.
