The areas most affected by the storm include Part Baixa, Serrallo, the beach areas, La Móra, the industrial estates of Entrevies and Francolí, and various urbanizations in Llevant. Municipal teams have been working throughout the night to remove fallen trees and clear blocked drains.
Approximately 2,000 Endesa customers remain without electricity due to trees falling on power lines. Fortunately, no personal injuries have been reported.
Several campsites in the city also suffered the consequences of the storm, necessitating the temporary relocation of some families. Among the notable incidents, a tree fell on a tent without causing injuries, and a lightning strike caused a palm tree to catch fire.
Regarding public transport, the Municipal Transport Company reports provisional disruptions on four bus lines. Line 22 does not reach Torres Jordi, Line 11 has affected service to the Boscos de Tarragona terminal, Line 12 cannot travel along Conca de Barberà street towards Tamarit, and Line 13 does not extend beyond Entrepins towards l’Escorpí. Service is expected to normalize gradually.
The train service, which had been affected by the rain, has now been restored. The Francolí bridge was reopened to traffic at 3:42 AM.
