The Tarragona Tourism Board announced this Thursday that the city recorded 1.7 million overnight stays in 2025, matching the performance of the last two years.

Local hotels and campsites maintained steady numbers compared to 2023 and 2024. Tourism Councilor Montse Adan highlighted that the city is successfully attracting visitors outside the summer peak, with notable increases during autumn and winter.

"There are approximately 2 million visitors who do not stay overnight in the city, but stay in nearby coastal towns."

This data suggests that Tarragona remains a major day-trip destination for tourists staying in other areas of the region, drawn by its historical and cultural heritage.
