The Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Tarragona expressed concern on March 2 regarding how current global military conflicts might impact the 2026 tourism campaign.

Speaking at the opening of the TurisMarket trade fair in Tarragona, president Berta Cabré explained that while they expected a year of stability, recent international events have created a climate of uncertainty. This instability typically has a direct effect on travel decisions and bookings.

"They create instability in the world and, therefore, this instability always has effects on the tourism sector."

Despite these concerns, indicators for the Costa Daurada remain strong. Reus Airport is seeing increased activity, and international tour operators have reported positive feedback. The TurisMarket event features over 120 exhibitors and serves as a key meeting point for professionals in the region.
