The demonstration, held under an anti-immigration slogan, gathered around 60 people aiming to reach the site where the local Muslim community plans to relocate its mosque. A police cordon prevented direct contact with a group of 250 anti-fascist protesters.
Incidents were reported during the protest when some far-right participants harassed local residents. The Tarragona City Council had ordered the preventive closure of public facilities in Bonavista during the afternoon to avoid potential riots.

Vox MP Sergio Macián criticized the heavy police presence, suggesting it may have discouraged more people from attending. Organizations such as the Anti-Racist Network had previously called for the event to be banned.
