A coordinated police operation across Tarragona, Reus, Valls, and el Vendrell concluded this Friday with 33 arrests and over 1,100 people identified.

The Kanpai operation targeted repeat offenders in high-crime areas. Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra and National Police identified 1,138 individuals who collectively held 3,382 prior criminal records. The mission aimed to increase police presence and reduce the sense of impunity among local criminals.

"One of the keys to this device is that it works in a coordinated and simultaneous way. We work the metropolitan transport network and this allows us to detect those people who come from other parts of the territory."
