Three people were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning early this March 10 after a fire completely gutted an apartment in Tarragona.

The fire broke out at 05:03 AM in a building located on Rambla Ponent, in the Campclar neighborhood. The flames destroyed a first-floor apartment and filled the building's stairwell with thick smoke.
Five Bombers de la Generalitat crews attended the scene. Residents were ordered to stay inside their homes for safety while firefighters worked to control the blaze.
Three individuals were evacuated using rescue hoods. While two were released at the scene, one person was taken to Joan XXIII Hospital for further treatment. The Guàrdia Urbana closed local roads near the N-340 during the operation.
