The program combines the council's own activities with actions in collaboration with key environmental and social entities, such as the Fundació Espigoladors, La Sínia, Torrecat, and Sinibald de Mas, seeking to foster respect for nature and animals.
“"The 2026 environmental education program consolidates ongoing projects and reinforces environmental education and awareness, with special attention to the responsible management of feline colonies and joint work with municipal entities."
Among the consolidated activities that remain are gleaning and workshops against food waste (scheduled from January to March, and from September to November), exchange markets, and the Let’s Clean Up routes, planned for June and September.
One of the new focuses is animal welfare, especially the management of feline colonies. This includes the completion of the CatHotels project, with the presentation of the work by students from the Institut Ramon de la Torre at the end of May, and a responsible ownership campaign from June 21 to July 31.
The presentation of the Guide to Trees and Shrubs of the Gaià River is also incorporated in March. Regarding the Tree Festival, the traditional popular planting is postponed until early 2027 to ensure better climatic conditions and the success of the planting.
