The small villages of Bràfim and Figuerola del Camp in the Alt Camp region have become strategic hubs for car rental and leasing companies seeking lower taxes.

According to a report by Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA), these municipalities charge half the amount for the Vehicle Traction Tax compared to Tarragona city. This fiscal policy has allowed small town halls to significantly increase their public budgets.

"We were looking for economic resources and decided to lower the rate to be attractive and competitive."
