A 2.7 magnitude earthquake shakes the Tarragonès coast during the early hours

The Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia confirmed that the movement caused no damage and went unnoticed.

A 2.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred this Sunday morning off the coast of Tarragonès, according to data from the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia.

The seismic movement took place at 03:43 AM at a depth of approximately 5 kilometers. The epicenter was located offshore, in an area near the coast of the Tarragonès region.
According to information provided by the official body, the quake was not felt by the public and no material damage has been reported in the area.
This event follows another seismic movement recorded on June 23 in the same geographical area, which reached a magnitude of 2.3 and was also not detected by the population.
