The Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant City Council definitively approved the Forest Fire Prevention Plan (PPIF) on Thursday, January 29, strengthening municipal safety with support from the Tarragona Provincial Council.

The Forest Fire Prevention Plan (PPIF) received support from Més Municipi, Acció Municipal, the FIC, and the PP, while the PSC abstained and the CUP voted against. This document is crucial for defining the necessary actions to prevent, limit, and manage the impact of fires within the municipal area.
The PPIF, developed with technical assistance from the Tarragona Provincial Council and the company Punt Eco Agroambiental SL, covers both forest areas and nearby urban centers. Planned actions include creating protection strips, improving access roads, inventorying water points, and protecting areas of ecological interest and vulnerable installations.
The document analyzes risk factors such as vegetation model and combustibility, and incorporates measures from the Priority Protection Perimeter (PPP) Tivissa–Vandellòs–Llaberia–Pradell, which the municipality is part of. The Plan will be valid for four years and must be reviewed afterwards according to recommendations from the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Before the definitive approval, the Plenary Session resolved the allegations presented by the CUP-AMUNT and the ADF de Vandellòs during the public information period. Out of nine allegations received, two were fully accepted and three partially, incorporating minor modifications that do not alter the Plan's main actions.
