The traditional Cós de Sant Antoni, recognized as a Traditional Festive Element of National Interest, was held this Sunday at the Parc de la Torre d’en Dolça equestrian circuit in Vila-seca, gathering over 7,000 people and seventeen thoroughbred horses.

The event, which had been postponed from January 18 due to heavy rain that damaged the track, featured seventeen English thoroughbred horses from various parts of the peninsula. A total of 30,000 euros in prizes were distributed among the winners of the three races.
The day included three races. The first, the Premi Torre d’en Dolça (1,700 meters), was won by the horse Katalina, from the Endika Arcentales stable, ridden by jockey José Gómez. The same jockey repeated victory in the second race, the Gran Premi Ajuntament de Vila-seca (2,500 meters), riding the horse Mauro, from the Mallow Gran Canaria stable.

Professionals, authorities, owners, and fans agreed in highlighting the good organization and success, once again, of the only horse races held in Catalonia.

Finally, the Premi Patronat Municipal de Turisme de Vila-seca (1,700 meters) was also claimed by José Gómez, who rode the horse Super Lover, from the Carbial stable. The decision to postpone the event was made jointly by the Vila-seca City Council, the judges and commissioners of the Jockey Club Español de Carreras de Caballos, and the participants, to ensure safety and optimal track conditions.
