The wind began to blow strongly during the early hours of February 11. According to data from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, the anemometer in Mas de Barberans recorded 106.6 km/h at 6:42 AM, while El Perelló reached 103.7 km/h shortly before 6:30 AM.
By seven in the morning, the 112 emergency hotline had received a total of 193 calls across Catalonia due to storm-related incidents. Of these, 16 originated from the Tarragonès region and 12 specifically from the city of Tarragona, where gusts reached 86 km/h.
The Firefighters (Bombers) carried out a dozen interventions to remove fallen trees, secure cornices, and handle unstable elements such as awnings or blinds. Actions were concentrated in municipalities like Salou, Calafell, El Vendrell, and the Bonavista neighborhood in the capital.
The Meteocat forecast indicates that the wind danger will persist until noon in the Baix Camp, Baix Penedès, and Conca de Barberà regions. Starting in the afternoon, the wind is expected to blow moderately again along the Tarragona coastline.
