On January 28, the Gabriel Ferrater i Soler Institute in Reus hosted the local phase of the Kangaroo Cup, bringing together 210 students from twelve educational centers in the area.

The competition, organized by the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques (SCM), gathered students and teachers from centers in Reus, Salou, and Torredembarra, fostering talent and passion for scientific knowledge among the youth.
Participants were divided into two categories: Cadet (aimed at 1st and 2nd year of ESO) and Junior (for 3rd and 4th year of ESO). Each team had to solve twelve mathematical problems in a maximum time of 60 minutes, testing their strategy and teamwork skills.
The winning teams of this first phase earned the right to participate in the grand Catalan final. At the Reus venue, the team from the Marta Mata Institute in Salou prevailed in the Cadet category, while the Junior victory went to the Pare Manyanet team.
