The Roda de Berà City Council hosted yesterday, Tuesday, the second session of the University Extension Classroom, featuring a lecture on architect Josep Maria Jujol and his work in the town.

The session, attended by 22 students, was led by Francesc Roig Queralt under the title “Josep M. Jujol, living architecture”. The talk focused on the figure and work of Jujol, a renowned representative of Catalan modernism and collaborator of Antoni Gaudí.
In Roda de Berà, Jujol's legacy includes the Mas Carreras chapel, decorative elements in the parish church of Sant Bartomeu (altar table, flooring, wrought iron railings, tabernacle, and wooden chancel), as well as items like lamps, a cross, and candelabra. Currently, the Espai Jujol at the La Roca Foradada Civic Center displays photographs of his works in the municipality.
The University Extension Classroom for Seniors, made possible by an agreement with the URV, will continue on December 1st with a lecture on Polar Regions by Jordi Camins. These sessions aim to bring different fields of knowledge closer to citizens.
