The Catalan International Film Festival (FIC-CAT) has opened the submission period for its 19th edition, which will take place in Roda de Berà from June 4 to 12, 2027, aiming to promote Catalan-language film productions.

The festival, now in its 19th edition, invites filmmakers, producers, and educational institutions to submit their works. The published participation guidelines detail the selection criteria for various categories: feature film, documentary, short film, music video, and works from primary and secondary educational centers. In addition to the Official Selection, the festival will also organize the Young Competition and industry activities.
Submissions must have Catalan as their original or primary vehicular language, or Aranese. Each participant can submit a maximum of two works, provided they were completed in 2026 or 2027. Exceptions will be made for works in post-production if the final version is available on time. To be eligible for Official Selection awards, productions must not have had a commercial release in cinemas, digital platforms, or television before the festival; however, prior screenings at other film festivals do not preclude participation.
FIC-CAT 2027 maintains the economic endowment for its main awards: 2,000 euros for Best Feature Film, 1,250 euros each for Best Documentary and Best Short Film, and 300 euros for Best Music Video. In the educational sector, awards are 300 euros each for primary and secondary. The award for the best production from the Tarragonès Region (500 euros) and Audience Awards will also be presented.
The regulations include specific rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence, requiring participants to declare the use of such tools, specify the technologies employed, the stage of the process, and the degree of intervention.
Participation is free, and the deadline for submitting productions is Wednesday, March 24, 2027. Full regulations can be consulted at fic-cat.cat/bases, and registration can be completed via inscripcions.fic-cat.cat. With this call, FIC-CAT begins its journey towards its 19th edition, combining screenings with professional and educational activities.
