The Salou City Council suspended all outdoor festive events scheduled for Saturday, January 31, until 6 PM, due to the orange alert for strong winds activated by Civil Protection in the Tarragonès region.

Following instructions from Civil Protection of the Generalitat, the decision was made after the Meteorological Service of Catalonia activated the orange alert across the entire Tarragonès region. This forecast of intense wind gusts made the safe development of the scheduled events impossible.
Among the events that were completely canceled were the petanque tournament, the Cercavila (parade) and Ball de Lluïment del Seguici Festiu (Festive Entourage Display Dance), and the Salta Xic’s. The inauguration of the inflatable park Funbox Salou was also called off.

Activities scheduled in indoor spaces and those planned outside the alert period remain active and on their usual schedule.

Other activities underwent modifications. The reception of the mayor and the municipal corporation for local entities and associations was maintained, but moved to the Plenary Hall of the Salou City Council at 1 PM. The event featured musical accompaniment by the group Blue Alley Quintet.
The adverse weather conditions also forced the closure of the Fira Xic’s, located in the Plaça de les Comunitats Autònomes, until 6 PM. The Salou City Council thanked the public for their understanding and confirmed they were working to reschedule the canceled events.
