The AP-7 highway fully recovered its three lanes heading towards Tarragona early this Monday, February 9, after remaining interrupted for three weeks due to the serious railway accident in Gelida.

The highway had been interrupted between Martorell and Gelida since January 21, the day after the serious railway accident that caused a slope collapse. The urgent repair and consolidation works, carried out by the Ministerio de Transportes (Ministry of Transport), allowed the total reopening starting at 3 AM.
The urgent actions have guaranteed road safety both on the highway infrastructure and its immediate surroundings. Furthermore, it is expected that the C-32 southbound will cease to be free of charge starting midnight between Monday and Tuesday, a measure that was implemented during the interruption period.
By 9:30 AM this Monday, traffic on the highway was mostly fluid. Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service) only detected heavy traffic near Barberà del Vallès, between Castellbisbal and Sant Cugat, and at one point in Tarragona (km 237) due to the removal of a vehicle, causing only minor delays.
