The Camp de Tarragona stands out with 37.9% of regular Catalan speakers, a figure higher than the Catalonia average, according to the 2023 Linguistic Usage Survey, despite the demographic growth in the region.

Data from the 2023 Linguistic Usage Survey indicates that the Camp de Tarragona has a significantly higher percentage of regular Catalan speakers, at 37.9%, compared to the 32.6% average for Catalonia. This information was released during an event in Constantí, in the Tarragonès region.
Despite an increase in the total number of people who know the language, the percentage of regular speakers has slightly decreased due to the notable demographic growth experienced in the area. Nevertheless, the Camp de Tarragona is the only territory where the percentage of initial language speakers remains stable.
During this presentation, the Minister of Linguistic Policy, Francesc Xavier Vila, introduced a guide for local councils. This guide includes 40 action proposals designed to promote Catalan at the local level, facilitating the development of municipal linguistic plans.
