Around sixty vehicles organized by Revolta Pagesa blocked access to the Port of Tarragona via the A-27 this Thursday morning to protest against the signing of the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur.

The mobilization, which is part of protests replicated across the country and Europe, was called by Revolta Pagesa and involves about sixty vehicles, including tractors and cars. Farmers argue that the pact with the South American bloc would severely harm them economically.

"The pact would also have consequences for consumers, since food produced in other parts of the world does not comply with the sanitary requirements that exist in Europe, a fact that they believe can be detrimental to health."
