The Tarragona Province Hotel Association (AEHT) has confirmed a notable increase in the volume of stays and a slight rise in the average price per night at establishments across Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre during the New Year's holiday period.
In the capital and the Tarragonès region, occupancy hovered around 70% during the Christmas week, reaching its peak coinciding with New Year's Eve. Similar figures were recorded in inland regions such as Conca de Barberà, Reus, and Baix Camp, where the average rose from 60% to nearly 90% in the second week.
These figures confirm the trend of demand concentration on very specific dates, especially linked to celebrations and short getaways.
Regarding Priorat, tourist accommodation occupancy exceeded 55%, a figure higher than the previous year, also showing a clear concentration during the celebrations. The increase in both occupancy and average price compared to the previous year partially helps offset the impact of the low season immediately following the holidays.
