The Agència de l’Habitatge de Catalunya has launched a search for developers to construct 337 official protected housing (VPO) units for affordable rent across three municipalities in the Tarragona region, under the Pla 50.000.

This action, promoted by the Catalan Government, aims to mobilize land to meet the commitment of building 50,000 new VPO rental units by 2030. This tender follows a recent credit expansion supported by the Parliament last year, enabling the construction of 1,940 protected homes across Catalonia.
The majority of the new developments are concentrated in the capital, with 237 flats planned for two plots in the PP10 sector of Tarragona, located near Campclar and Bonavista. Additionally, 52 units are planned for Carrer Anoia in Cambrils and 48 more on Avinguda de l'Institut in L'Arboç.

"From the municipal government, we reaffirm our commitment to offering solutions to improve access to housing, and this action by the Generalitat adds to those promoted by the council."

Nacho García Latorre · Tarragona Urban Planning Councillor
In Tarragona, the PP10 plots are jointly owned: three-quarters belong to the Servei Municipal de l’Habitatge i Actuacions Urbanes S. A. (SMHAUSA), projecting 87 homes, and the remainder to the Institut Català del Sòl (Incasòl), with 150 flats. The City Council and the Generalitat recently formalized an agreement for the regional entity to take over the promotion of these sites.
