Randstad's forecast for the sales campaign indicates that 26,170 contracts will be signed in Catalonia, a 0.3% decrease compared to the 26,250 registered last year. This slight decline is mainly due to the expected drops in the provinces of Barcelona (-0.6%, down to 19,995) and Girona (-2.1%, down to 2,515).
In contrast to the general trend, the provinces of Tarragona and Lleida are expected to experience significant growth in hiring. Tarragona anticipates 2,405 signings, an increase of 1.9% year-on-year. Lleida leads the growth with 1,255 contracts projected, representing a 4.6% increase.
Catalonia remains the autonomous community in Spain where the highest number of contracts is expected for the winter sales campaign.
At the national level in Spain, Randstad calculates that the campaign will generate 143,500 contracts, 2.5% more than last year. Most of these signings will be concentrated in the transport, logistics, and retail sectors, coinciding with the start of the sales in most establishments this Wednesday.
