Nàstic de Tarragona will not reinforce its defense with the Tarragona-born center-back Aleix Coch during this winter transfer window. The player will remain at Algeciras CF, as confirmed by Technical Secretary Sergi Parés during the presentation of the club's new signings.
“"He is a player who interested us because he is local, and bringing in players from the territory is our philosophy. However, he has a contract and the club he is at will not let him leave, so it is a situation we rule out."
The main reason behind this refusal is the complicated financial situation of the Andalusian club. Algeciras carries debts that prevent them from signing new players. Therefore, they cannot allow Coch to leave, even though he is not currently a starter, as they would be unable to fill his vacancy.
Given this situation, Parés indicated that the club is already exploring alternatives to strengthen the defensive line. One option being considered is the conversion of current squad players, such as Óscar Sanz or Mángel Prendes, to defensive roles. The winter market closes at midnight on Monday, February 2.
