The new La Muntanyeta Residence, located in the Bonavista neighborhood of Tarragona, will open its doors on February 17 to offer 60 places and pioneering services for people with cerebral palsy and multi-disabilities.

The new building, located on the Partió road, sits on a 15,000 m2 plot of land ceded by the Tarragona City Council. The total investment for the project execution exceeded 13 million euros, financed by the La Muntanyeta Foundation of the Santa Tecla Healthcare, Social and Teaching Network, with support from administrations, private donors, and Next Generation European funds.

The facility will become a first-rate social service and a reference point throughout Catalonia in the care of people with cerebral palsy and other multi-disabilities.

The facility triples the capacity of the old residence on the Oliva road, offering a total of 60 places distributed across five residential units. Four of these units are designated for standard residential use, while a fifth, located on the ground floor, will be dedicated to intermediate care hospitalization.
This intermediate care unit is pioneering in Catalonia and across Spain, designed for the treatment of transient intercurrent health processes or for end-of-life care processes. Additionally, the complex includes a 150 m2 specialized outpatient treatment area to facilitate rapid access to specialists (neurologist, speech therapist, psychiatrist, etc.) without the need for admission.
