A delegation from the Port of Tarragona participated this week in the 3rd National Green Hydrogen Congress in Huelva to strengthen its position as a key logistics hub.

The Port Authority of Tarragona has reaffirmed its role as a strategic infrastructure for hydrogen logistics at the 3rd National Green Hydrogen Congress held in Huelva. Representatives held fifteen high-level meetings, emphasizing that the port's geographical location is vital for exporting hydrogen produced across the Iberian Peninsula.
Industry stakeholders highlighted the Port of Tarragona's expertise in liquid bulk management and its role as the main logistics partner for the Tarragona chemical hub. The upcoming European gauge railway connection and proximity to the H2Med corridor are seen as major strengths for the port's development as a renewable energy hub.
The event showcased a trend of moderate growth and optimism within the sector. It was confirmed that the H2Med project will finalize its detailed engineering by the end of 2026. However, participants stressed the importance of establishing a clear regulatory framework and ensuring competitive electricity costs to guarantee the success of future projects.
