The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has issued a red alert for Baix Penedès and orange for the rest of Tarragona due to severe wind gusts of up to 110 km/h.

Storm Nils has placed the Tarragona region on high alert. Meteocat has raised the warning to red level in the Baix Penedès county, where wind gusts are expected to exceed 110 km/h between midnight and noon this Thursday.
The orange alert extends to Tarragonès, Alt Camp, Baix Camp, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Ribera d'Ebre, and Terra Alta. In these areas, the danger is considered high, while a yellow alert is active in Baix Ebre and Montsià.

So far, the Firefighters have responded to over a hundred calls due to the storm. Most interventions occurred in Baix Penedès and Tarragonès, mainly involving fallen trees and unstable structures on public roads.
Civil Protection advises extreme caution, securing objects on balconies, and avoiding coastal areas. The unstable weather is expected to last until Friday morning, with potential sharp temperature changes over the weekend.
