The city of Tarragona became the major hub for European sport for people with intellectual disabilities from October 9th to 12th. These Games, organized by the Federació ACELL and held every four years, brought together more than 1,700 athletes from 10 European countries.
Participants competed in 15 different disciplines across various venues in the city. The Fundació Estela played a significant role, with 15 athletes accompanied by four coaches, competing in table tennis and athletics.
Fundació Estela, along with Solc, represented Tarragona during the four days of competition. They achieved excellent results in various athletics events and secured the top three podium places in table tennis.
Beyond the sporting results, the athletes from Fundació Estela and their families gained a valuable experience of coexistence, enthusiasm, and inclusion, actively participating in events such as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.
